Turning Rejection Into Motivation

Rejection is an inevitable part of every writer’s journey, but what if those “no, thank you” emails could become your secret weapon? In “Turning Rejection into Motivation”, Lynette talks about how she dealt with the rejections that came and how she used them as a springboard for success, trusting that God’s timing was perfect. As writers we need to develop a thick skin and the ability to have a mindset that turns each “no” into a stepping stone toward your writing goals. Harness rejection’s hidden power and keep your creative fire burning.

Finding Your Allies After Rejection

In the story of your professional life, rejection often feels like a plot twist that leaves you isolated and questioning your path forward. But just as in the best  novels, it’s in these darkest moments that unexpected allies emerge. Join Lynette as she reveals how rejection reshapes our perspective on professional relationships, uncovers our true supporters, and teaches us to build the authentic alliances that turn setbacks into comebacks.

Writing Conflict Without Words

Nonverbal Communication in Fiction … What to write when your characters aren’t talking. Looking to add conflict to your story? Tired of boring dialogue tags? Want to improve your showing vs. telling? Deepen your fiction writing by applying nonverbal communication to your characters. Nonverbal signals make up over half of our ability to communicate. Add in tone of voice and nearly all our communication has nothing to do with our actual spoken words. In this class, you’ll learn not only the definitions of various nonverbal communication skills, but how to show them within the confines of a story. You’ll also learn how to layer character conflict while showing action and emotion, rather than telling how a character feels. This will strengthen your word choices and add dynamic description across all genres.
