The FHLCW Board is committed to keeping the price of our in-person conference low. We do understand, though, that financial situations are sometimes tight, and we want to offer those members in need of financial help a scholarship to pay for all or part of the conference registration. Thus, we are offering a very small number of full and half scholarships. Travel and hotel accommodation are not covered by these scholarships; they are for registration costs only.
To qualify for the scholarships, a person must be a member of Faith, Hope & Love Christian Writers at the time they apply for the scholarship and they must remain a member until the time of the 2025 conference.
To apply for a scholarship, please write a few paragraphs addressing the following:
1. Describe your writing journey. Include details on how long you have been writing, your status –(whether you have finished a long work, submitted a query to a publisher (name publisher/s), self-published, taken classes, joined any writing groups, etc).
2. State your writing goals and explain what you hope to gain from attending this writing conference.
3. Let us know if a partial scholarship will be enough to help you attend the conference. This would mean you would pay a reduced registration of $138. If you need a full scholarship (paying no registration), let us know that as well.
Submit your written responses to the above questions to FHLCW Director, Pegg Thomas, at [email protected] before May 10, 2025.
- Put “Scholarship Application” in the subject line of your email.
- Note your mailing address as well as telephone number in your response.
- There are limited scholarships available so apply early.
Three Board Members will make the final decisions about who is awarded the scholarships. The names of those applying for scholarships will be held in confidence by the Board and the Conference Committee. All those who apply for a scholarship will receive notification by email revealing whether or not they received a scholarship. Decisions of the Board will be final, but those who do not receive a scholarship for the 2025 conference are encouraged to apply again for any future conferences.
